Earl went hiking last Sunday in Wayne National Forest in southeastern Ohio and took this shot full of sunshine and shadow across the rocks.
The trail he followed is one of the most difficult in Ohio, but he found it a bit disappointing because the arduous trail never led to high point with a great view.

I love all the green in the picture. I can see why he would be disappointed to have no vistas - after all that work! LOL
We lived in NC for many years and loved going to Hanging Rock State Park with trails much like this one. I love all the cool shade and warm dappled sunlight. But, yeah, too bad about the lack of view - that's half the reason to go on arduous hikes like this.
Very relaxing and beautiful spot!
That is a fabulous shot! I can almost feel myself there amongst the greenery.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
Hi!

It's great to be outside, isn't it? We get spoiled out here in the west as most hikes here have several spectacular views along the way.
What fabulous scenery! It's too bad there wasn't a high point view after all that work.
I love how secluded it looks. A nice little nook in the rock.

Lovely photo. Hiking can produce some gorgeous photos.
He did take a great picture though. So not so disappointing for us.
Pretty, even without a view. I don't enjoy hiking much-something about it wears me out, even faster than trying to jog.
Absolutely to die for. Makes me want to take up hiking, and I remember how unbearable it was.
