Saturday Snapshots

Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce of At Home With Books. If you are interested in participating, just post a photo (new or old), but make sure it's not one that you found online. Add your link to Alyce's Saturday post for all to enjoy.
Here's mine:
I left Ohio Friday at 1 p.m. and drove all night. Now I'm in Florida. The world sure changes in the space of a day.
Here in Highlands Hammock State Park is a cypress swamp that looks so primitive.
I love the way the sky and water reflect each other so it's hard to tell which is which. The world is upside down.
And this guy reminds me that we're not in Kansas (or Ohio) anymore.

These are so gorgeous. (What kind of ugly guy is what...alligator?)

It all looks so beautiful until you get to the alligator. :) They do have a majestic beauty I guess, but I sure wouldn't want to meet one in person.

That alligator is one of the few critters I would be using a very long lens to photograph!

Love pictures of the cypress swamp. Probably would like the actuality so much - heat, humidity, smells. And...I could do without the wildlife in the form of the alligator. :-)

Enjoy you time there. Thanks for sharing with us.

Hi!
Awesome snapshots! I'm with Alyce, they all look good until the last one. I wouldn't want to meet him in the dark. Have a great day!

I lived in Florida until about 10 years ago, and there will always be a place in my heart for swamps and alligators. Great photos!

Swamps are always so creepy. You never know what's lurking in them. The reflection pic is beautiful though!

That is a big change. Isn't it great to see new vegetation?

Love the Cypress Swamp.
Thank you so much for sharing.

We enjoyed two deer, grieved over a fallen bird's egg and took in the cooing sounds of pigeons under the freeway over pass.

Wow! Amazing photos. I live in the UK and can't imagine seeing an alligator in real life!!

Thanks to everyone for the comments.
Funny that I didn't think of identifying the alligator. Suppose I should realize that not everyone has seen alligators in person.
The nice thing about this swamp is that boardwalks run through it, so we get to stay dry and safe while enjoying nature. It's shady under the trees so not overly hot.
