Dreaming of France -- Van Gogh

Please join this weekly meme. Grab a copy of the photo above and link back to An Accidental Blog. Share with the rest of us your passion for France. Did you read a good book set in France? See a movie? Take a photo in France? Have an adventure? Eat a fabulous meal or even just a pastry? Or if you're in France now, go ahead and lord it over the rest of us. We can take it.
This week, I'm borrowing some of my friend Leah's photos from her trip this summer. Since she's an artist, she loves to visit places where other artists created.
While staying in Arles, they traveled to St. Remy and visited St. Paul du Mausole, the mental health hospital where Van Gogh stayed for 53 weeks. It is still a working hospital, but it allows tours and has some great tributes to Van Gogh. According to the website, Van Gogh created 143 oil paintings and 100 drawings while he stayed there, including his famous Starry Night and The Irises.
Van Gogh's paintbrushes.

The entrance looks so quintessential French, doesn't it.

I look forward to seeing what everyone else is dreaming about this week. Please leave a comment, and visit each other's blogs for more French inspiration.

Gorgeous photos, that entrance does look very French, so green and lush too. Van Gogh had such a tragic tale, I've often wondered what his life would have been like if he lived with access to modern psychiatry. I must get to Arles one day. We visited the marvellous Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam last year- it was fantastic.
