Miracles in the Making

Just a quick update as I am yawning from the flurry of activity today. (Read the previous post if you aren't up-to-date on the latest about the sale of our house.)
We had five showings on our house today and received three offers.
Officially, we are now in contract and scheduled to close on December 8, plenty of time to spend Christmas in Florida with my parents and to fly to France in the New Year.
We are moving to France! We really are!

So we have a contract and a backup offer to help things move along.
France will happen after all.
Thanks for all the support and good wishes.
My optimism is on the rise.
A toast to our good luck and to all of my friends online.

Thanks for your support on this crazy voyage.

Bonjour Paulita ! Your previous post made me feel sad for you and your husband.Would it be possible that your once life project ends up in the failure of the sale? Impossible!!!I was pretty sure that other buyers would be interested in your beautiful house in Colombus. Now you can think quietly about your next trip in France and then start your dream home hunting. Let's go Paulita! A german proverb says : " Happy as God in France! ". I wish you all the same.

Thanks everyone. I'm still floating in happiness, so much that I ran 10 miles Tuesday morning!
Francetaste, There was a bit of a bidding war, but we went with the safest choice.
Sillygirl, You guys do buoy my spirits when I think all hope is lost.
Diane, Yes, and finally I'll have more time to read
Barefoot in Hawaii, Thanks. You made your France dream come true and I'm determined to do the same.
Jeanie, Thanks for your support.
Philippe, What a funny saying. I'm not sure I ever thought of God as happy. Kind of more disappointed in all the mistakes people make. But I guess I can see that France has been a pretty Catholic country, so if he were going to be happy, I guess it would be in France. I'm pretty sure I'll be happy in France, at least on most days. I'm not imagining it as a Utopia.

There is something magical about France - it isn't there in England or Spain or Italy or any other places we have visited although those other places have something of their own. There is something magical in France. You will tell us all about it when you live there.

Cockadoodle Doo or Cocorico?

We stood in the middle of the road, having walked together 13 miles that day and Claudine grasped my forearm. "Mais non! It doesn'...
