Then and Now

Join West Metro Mommy for this weekly meme of photos people have taken and share on their blogs.
This week, I spent a lot of time scanning in negatives of photos when the kids were little.
Each picture was more adorable than the next. I posted a bunch on Facebook to oohs and ahhs.
Today, I planned to post some on my blog, showing how Grace has been an actress since the day she was old enough to choose her own clothes, but instead, I got hijacked by Spencer.
Spencer came home from college yesterday, and after eating dinner with us, Earl dropped him off at a friend's house on the campus of Ohio State.
This morning, he called and through highly slurred words, asked if I'd pick him up.
"Did you sleep at all?" I asked.
"No, not yet," he said.
So I traveled through the pre-football traffic to pick him up. But when I got there, he had fallen asleep and I had a hard time rousing him. I texted. I phoned. I got out of the car and walked up to what I hoped was the right door. No one answered.
As I got in my car to leave, a  young man opened the door and he must have woken Spencer because he came out and got in the car.
On the 15-minute drive home, he fell asleep.
So why is it that this sleeping Spencer at two,

is so darn much cuter than this sleeping, tipsy Spencer at 21?

Hope you all have a splendid weekend.

Saturday Snapshot -- Little Flirt

To participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post on Alyce's blog At Home With Books. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don’t post random photos that you find online.
This week, baby Caroline came to visit while her mom, our niece, went to a wedding shower. Only Caroline isn't a baby any more. She's 2 1/2. We started to walk to the park when we saw Max, the 3-year old neighbor, outside. We stopped to play with him. When it was time to go, she refused to let him hug her.

She had no problems accepting hugs from his 12 year old brother though.

Look at that look on her face. She is so flirting with him. Already playing guys against each other. Poor little Max just wanted a hug.

Babysitting

Today we babysat for baby Caroline, who is now 20 months old. The cats entertain her. And she entertains the cats by reading to them. Whenever I take a picture of her, she asks to see "the baby." Today I was showing her the pictures on my iPhone when she began to use her index finger to scroll through them. She even pushed the arrow to start videos over and over again. At one point, she used her finger and thumb to enlarge the picture. She knows more about the iPhone than I do, thanks to her grandfather. With the iPhone, I can turn the camera around so Caroline can see herself. She must have taken 30 pictures of herself and some video too. She played peekaboo with herself on the iPhone. I'll try to load it.

The Olympic Cauldron

Many people visit Paris in August, but mostly they run into other tourists. This year, there seem to be fewer tourists throughout the city ...
