The irises are in full bloom at my house. Many of them have simply fallen over on their long stems.
These irises came from my mother's house in Kentucky. I'm not sure where they might have been planted before then. She lives in Florida now and the irises do not like the climate there, so I thought I'd send her one on my blog.
The irises are just one of the gifts she has given me that continues to bloom every year.
Happy Mother's Day!

I love iris. I never see one now without thinking of Provence. They just started blooming this week.
Ditto on Linda's comment. I was up in the valley this weekend and the iris, the poppies, the bergamot...and on and on. So beautiful.
Funny. I never thought of iris growing in Provence, but I know I've seen paintings of them.
Such beautiful irises! My mom too loves these flowers a lot. Was planning to Send Mothers Day Flowers and was looking for some decent flower options to arrange a huge colorful bouquet. I wonder if you have any ideas regarding that!
