Dreaming of France -- French Hosts

Please join this weekly meme. Grab a copy of the photo above and link back to An Accidental Blog. Share with the rest of us your passion for France. Did you read a good book set in France? See a movie? Take a photo in France? Have an adventure? Eat a fabulous meal or even just a pastry? Or if you're in France now, go ahead and lord it over the rest of us. We can take it.
Maybe we can all satisfy our yearnings for France, until we get there again.

I'm busy preparing for our French visitor who is now spending two nights. I have a dinner party set up for Monday evening and decided nothing will be more American than going out for Mexican tonight.
Our young friend Nicolas has watched his parents play host to Earl and me many times. I hope we make him feel equally welcome.
Here's a picture from one of our visits to Nicolas' parents in Nantes. The French make it look so effortless to host people.
The table is set beautifully.

The cheese cart is ready for after dinner.
The teenage boys have hearty appetites and impeccable manners.
The dessert wine is superb.
Wish me luck as I work on my hostessing skills.
Thanks for playing along today.

Hi Paulita , I am sure that whatever you do, Nicolas will have a very enjoyable stay with you and your husband.

Learn something everyday , sometimes a few things. I never knew that going for a Mexican is a very American thing to do. Enjoy :-)

How magnificent that dessert wine looks. I'm sure your French visitor will enjoy your hospitality too.

The dessert wine caught my eye too; no pressure Paulita! Knowing you just from your blog I KNOW your guest will feel right at home. Relax and enjoy!

Sorry Paulita, the first link didn't work so I had to relink.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. Nicolas arrived last night and so far we have toured Grace's university (just like in the movies, he said), ate at a Mexican restaurant where he was surprised they actually spoke Spanish, and, his favorite part I think, he and Grace walked down to a local bar around 10. They didn't get home til 12:30 as everyone kept buying Nicolas drinks.
