When our local Caribou Coffee closed, we were sad to miss the delicious coffee and the great space.
But we decided to use it as a chance to try some local coffee shops. At this one, they do a fancy picture in the foam at the top of the cappuccino.
I'm not sure what kind of skills this would take. I sometimes make my own cappuccino and I'm lucky to get a nice head of foam on it.
I know the barrista at this coffee shop has entered contests for this. I wonder what the contests are called. Coffee foam designs?

I can't figure out how they do that either. It's almost too pretty to drink.
MMMMMMM..... now I need another cup of coffee.
OMG. I don't think I will drink designed coffee! Too too good for that!
:D
Here is my Saturday Snapshot post!
I wouldn't even begin to know how to do that, but I suspect it's not as hard as it looks. Yes, more coffee now.
I like getting coffee like this - someone went out of their way to make something pretty despite its disposability.
Almost too pretty to drink!
Gorgeous design...it's almost too pretty to drink!
I always hate it when shops close, but you're right. It does give us the opportunity to explore new places.
Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
Ooh, I love pretty coffee. I don't actually drink coffee, but I do love how it looks when the barristas decide to be fancy.
I have seen competitions for creating fancy designs like that on TV (in clips from cooking shows, etc.) and the images they can create are astonishing. It's all in how you shake the cup and how you pour the cream. They make it look easy, which means it would be impossible for someone like me I'm sure!
Coffee like this has to be good for the soul. (:
Looks delicious! And they always seem to do it with a quick swish of the coffee stirrer and then taadaa! it's done. How do they DO that?!
I've never liked coffee, but can admire the designs in the foam. Just as long as I don't have to smell it!
It's a shame to drink it and mess it up.
That's so pretty. I don't know how they do it either.
I think they do it using a little stick -- like a toothpick or something similar. I don't think I have the skills to do it, but it sure does look pretty. Hope it was delicious!
seems a shame to destroy the image by drinking but I wouldn't let a little art get between me and my morning cup!
