First Paragraph, Tuesday Teaser -- Plum Blossoms in Paris

Every Tuesday, Diane at Bibliophile by the Sea posts the first paragraph of her current read. Anyone can join in. Go to Diane's website for the image and share the first paragraph of the current book you are reading.
I started Plum Blossoms in Paris by Sarah Hina, because, of course, it has to do with Paris. I'm a little worried because the premise of why she takes off for Paris seems a little weak, but really, why does anyone need a reason to take off for Paris. Here's the first paragraph:

When he told me he no longer loved me, I fell to my knees. I know. Even I was conscious of caving to melodrama as I collapsed toward the pea-puke, paisley carpet.

Also this week is Teaser Tuesdays.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

Grab your current read
Open to a random page
Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Here's a randomly selected teaser from page 58:
"Before today, the condition of being alone bred loneliness. But now, there is a reckless freedom fluttering through me, around me, tickling the curtains, coaxing the hair on my flesh to stretch and stiffen like new grass."
So what do you think?

Well, you had me at that title and cover! Love the opener and teaser, too; you're right, who needs a reason to go to Paris?

Love the opener, not so much the teaser too many flowery adjectives or embellishments or whatever you wish to call it...I would get tired reading them all. ;)

I love that tease! I agree, no reason is necessary to take off to Paris.

Meh. I don't think it's my type of book although I like the title.

Cockadoodle Doo or Cocorico?
