While enjoying the good life in France, I was also on alert for things which would seem strange to us as Americans. I found one as I passed a McDonalds at Les Halle's, an underground shopping mall connected to a Metro stop.

Why oh Why!!! Especially as you say with all the wonderful patisserie shops ,event the boulangeries have beautiful pastries too.
I was one of those people one time! Once. Just once, we were trapped in a bus station waiting for a bus, and I tried them out of curiosity. They weren't terrible, but they weren't Laduree or Gerard Mulot either.
