Although the weather feels brutal today, we had some lovely days this week and I got a chance to take some pictures of crocuses blooming.
The small purple flowers were enough to give me hope, but then I saw the bees buzzing around the flowers. I imagined the bees warming up in their hives and flying out in search of pollen. They must be puzzled that they can't find more flowers, not realizing that it's still February.
I'm glad they were able to find these crocuses. I count five bees here. Can you find them all?

Flowers peeking through like that always bring hope of spring!
What pretty crocuses! And yes, the bees - I had to look hard but there they are.
Such pretty crocuses? Croci? Not sure of the plural. The purple is beautiful.
I found the bees! I love looking for hidden aspects. The crocuses are deliciously colourful and bright!
It does not take those bees long does it? I had to enlarge the picture to see them.
Great shot. I can't wait for them to pop up in my area!
I love purple flowers...and these are gorgeous.
I'm not so crazy about bees.
Growing up on a farm, we had almonds; my father put beehives in the fields and I was afraid to walk there.
Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
I'm glad you mentioned the bees because I don't think I would have noticed them, certainly not all five, without zooming in.
Found them all. There was really a lot of competition for those few flowers. I'm longing for spring too.
So pretty! Spring is definitely on the way.
I blew the photo up, to help me find all of the bees.
Lovely photo! And happy belated birthday to you!
If you hadn't said anything about the bees I wouldn't have seen them tucked into those beautiful flowers!
Love that photo - make s me smile and long for spring.
Beautiful flowers, and the detail in your photo is amazing! Great shot.
I've been seeing daffodils just about ready to open and I can't wait.
Great photo! So happy spring is just around the corner.
Pretty flowers, I love when the blooms start popping up again :) My allergies don't agree, however... anyhow, thanks for stopping by my SS!
