Spring Break

My spring break from one job is coming to an end, but Grace's spring break begins today.
I picked her up at 8:30 a.m., after a run with my friend Noreen, and we drove through Starbucks for coffee. Then I baked the kouign amann that I had set out last night to rise. We settled on the couch to drink coffee, eat kouign amann and watch House Hunters International in France and Switzerland. We  yelled at the Americans who complained about not having American-sized refrigerators.
I love having Grace home.

I've stocked up on supplies of chocolate and wine, plus asparagus and goat cheese. I hope to really enjoy the week with her.
May all of you experience something as delightful as a daughter returning home for the week.

I love that you yell at the Americans looking for big refrigerators! That's such a fun show, especially for an armchair traveler. I'm always happy for the people who learn to embrace their surroundings and live like the locals rather than trying to recreate an American vision of suburban success.

And on the subject of living abroad - I adored, really adored, I See London, I See France. I can't wait to see who you'd cast, especially in the roles of Caroline, Scott, Gustave and especially, Jean-Marc!!

Americans have a very hard time with having a separate space for the toilet from the rest of the bathroom, too. But to use that as a reason not to take the rental or purchase? A bit self defeating if a place is otherwise acceptable.

My biggest objection to the small French refrigerator is having to practically stand on your head to get something out of it.

Just began I See London, I See France last night.

Sim, So glad you loved my book. I've had the characters picked out for awhile waiting for you to ask for my choices!
Lee, I'm thrilled that you started my novel, and I agree that the toilet thing is ridiculous. Have these people never traveled abroad before?

I yell in my head at all the people who rent and complain about the quarters, if your not buying it why are you complaining and if you are so lucky to be where you dream to be why are you complaining. I don't understand some people.

Ha! Half the fun for us watching House Hunters is to groan about the Americans.

I just wonder what cave have they been living in? You're moving to another country and you don't know anything about the living situation you're seeking.

Enjoy your many Graces !
