Dreaming of France -- Morning Coffee

Please join this weekly meme. Grab a copy of the photo above and link back to An Accidental Blog. Share with the rest of us your passion for France. Did you read a good book set in France? See a movie? Take a photo in France? Have an adventure? Eat a fabulous meal or even just a pastry? Or if you're in France now, go ahead and lord it over the rest of us. We can take it.

Welcome to Dreaming of France. I haven't had a lot of participation with Dreaming of France in the past month or so, but I'm always hopeful that it will increase. I know it will pick up when I actually move to France and everyone will want to know what the transition is like -- to torture yourself with my descriptions of the food, the scenery and the leisurely lifestyle.
I've got another year or so before that happens, but I'm a little concerned because one of my favorite French things has faded.
If you've read my books, or even my blog, you know how much I adore the big mugs of coffee and steamed milk for breakfast. I've post about hotel breakfasts and my own big coffee mugs.
I had a cup that Spencer and Earl bought me on the top of the Eiffel Tower, but it broke.
I bought myself a mammoth cup at the store Sur la Table. It has a crack but still survives, and I've turned off of it.

My excuse is that the coffee gets cold too quickly because of the surface area.
Instead, I've been seduced by the tall coffee mug, which has a small surface area and keeps the coffee and steamed milk below nice and toasty.

Here's an example of an adorable tall coffee mug. I don't own it, but I wouldn't mind owning it.
But the way this relates to Dreaming of France is my fear that I'll grow weary of French things. Do you think that's possible.
Will I someday, when I live in France, say, "Ho hum" to a chocolate croissant? I can't imagine that I would, but it gives me pause.
Hope everyone else is Dreaming of France. Please share your post, and I'd love it if you'd visit the posts of others who play along too.

I'm sorry to have been mostly absent recently, I've planned to participate, but it's been a busy and difficult time. I'm happy to be back today (can't guarantee next week, but you never know..). I don't drink coffee at all, indeed I hate the smell and can't see the fascination at all, but I know most people love it. I'd never thought about how it would cool quickly in one of those nice looking French cups. Will you tire of chocolat chaud? I can't imagine so. I'm very excited about your move, and am insanely jealous.

How many times have you been to France? Many, many times and you never tire of it. I don’t see that as a possibility in your future.
I’ve got two things to share with you today. One is a French-dubbed trailer; always fun I hope.
The other is the link to a newly created page on my writing blog where I’ve gathered up some travel type pieces under the Other Places banner. Most of them are Dreaming of France pieces.
Nice to have company again, eh?

Paulita: I don't usually link to your Dreaming of France meme, because I don't often read books set in France, or eat French food (unless you count french fried of course), but I always always read it. I agree about the wide short cups, too cool too quickly. Have a great week.

Louise, Sorry things have been difficult. Hope they improve soon and always happy to have you on Dreaming of France or anytime.
Virginia, Yes, I don't know how you keep two blogs going plus photography class and all those trips to France.
Sim, Looking forward to your trailer and your nonfiction on traveling in France
Judy, I always enjoy hearing from you and reading your blog too.
Thanks to everyone for playing along. I'll be visiting and commenting after work this afternoon.

My manager just came back from France and she enjoyed it very much!!!
She showed me her pictures. she said what she loved best was going under ground to the catacombs where they took all the bones from various cemeteries...I would have loved that too!

I've been in France for 11 years and I still love every croissant and patisserie I stumble upon, I love to take a few minutes to people watch in a café while sipping my café alongée and I love to hear French spoken all around me. You'll be just fine. Thanks for the invite to join in today.

Cockadoodle Doo or Cocorico?
