I got the book Mr. Lynch's Holiday by Catherine O'Flynn after seeing someone else feature it on First Paragraph, Tuesday Teaser. I hope I like it.
He arrived on a cloudless day. As he stepped onto the tarmac, he looked up at the sky and saw nothing but blue and the traces left by other planes.Fairly succinct opening. The basics are that Dermot Lynch takes his first vacation from Birmingham in many years to visit his son Eamonn who lives on the coast of Spain. He learns Eamonn's secrets and becomes the center of the ex-pat community .
