I'm not much for New Year's Resolutions. Are you?
I think the New Year is a good time to take stock, but I hate how people criticize themselves so much.
Of course, I want to eat healthier, exercise more, be a better wife and mother, write more...
But instead of making and breaking resolutions, I've made two simple promises for this year.
The first is to not use plastic bags from stores. All I have to do is take my own cloth bags with me everywhere I go. If I don't have a cloth bag, I'll have to take my merchandise without a bag. I think I can do this one fairly well, as long as the insistent bag boys don't force me to take plastic bags for my meat.
My other goal is to spend about an hour outdoors most days, even in the winter. That shouldn't be too difficult if I get out and run in the mornings. I'm usually outside for an hour running. I like the idea of spending one of every 24 hours in nature, even if it's in the city and running along a street.
How bout you? Will you change anything in the coming year? What are the odds you'll stick to it?

I'm not making any resolutions either. Just going to continue to enjoy life.
Yes I will make resolutions, although I'm late. The way I do it is to look for things I'd like in my life or like to remove from my life. Rather than starting on the first and failing by the 7th, I would like to see these things by the time the year ends. If they are not part of my everyday life by then, they go back on the list.
I agree with the 'beating one's self up' as counter productive.
Just remembered, I do have a list in progress out on the internet. Ha ! That's the reason I have keep lists - my memory.
I've always felt more comfortable with a 6 months plan, on hand. It may not always work for me but ...No harm no foul.
I think if I don't like something I'm gonna let the person know that I don't like it. My friend says I'm brutally honest. Little does she know that I have been holding back!
other then that I like your be outside for an hour everyday. I will try to exercise for 1/2 hour everyday be it a walk outside or a class at the gym. Happy New Year.
No resolutions for me. Yours sound doable and good for the environment and your health:)
