Dreaming of France -- Nature

Thank you for joining this weekly meme. Grab a copy of the photo above and link back to An Accidental Blog. Share with the rest of us your passion for France. Did you read a good book set in France? See a movie? Take a photo in France? Have an adventure? Eat a fabulous meal or even just a pastry? Or if you're in France now, go ahead and lord it over the rest of us. We can take it.

When people think of Paris, they rarely picture nature. But just a short train ride from the heart of Paris, in an area still considered Paris, we came across some beautiful scenes. We were on our way to the restaurant Maison Fournaise, which is where Renoir's Luncheon of the Boating Party took place. (The building was beautiful, the food was so-so.)
After we got off the train and began to walk toward the restaurant, here's what we found.
First was this glorious wall of wisteria.

This was in early spring. I wonder if it filled in even more with dripping purple blossoms.

I loved seeing this camouflaged boat and wondered if Johnny Depp or someone equally intriguing might live on it and cruise up and down the Seine.

From across the river, we spotted this egret fishing for his dinner.

And then we walked down this lane bordered by fragrant lilac bushes.

Also today, I'm linking to All About France.

But you are in France, Madame said...

We had a wisteria growing up the drainpipe and across our balcony rail in France. It was a magnificent plant but it was there for good as it had wrapped itself around the pipe and would have required considerable effort to remove.

Ah...Nature to the rescue. Beautiful. Pre planning, luck or both, you guys really see a lot of gorgeous scenery on your travels.

Did everyone enjoy the moon this weekend?

I love these photos! "Luncheon of the Boating Party" is a favorite of mine. Did you read the book (which might be the same title -- I should check). Historical fiction. Loved it. Oh, that wisteria! Sigh!

I absolutely love Wisteria but we dont have a wall in the right direction to grow it on amongst other reasons, as for the boat we have often thought about living on one but where would I put all my stuff...?

Catherine, Thanks so much for playing along today. I've heard people complain about wisteria, but one whiff and I'm in love with it.
Just Me, Yes, trying to find some positive. The moon last night was gorgeous. I hear it will be even better tonight (Monday)
Jeanie, Yes, we loved the novel "Luncheon of the Boating Party." That's one of the reasons we went to the restaurant.
Roz, I had no idea wisteria should be facing a certain direction. Guess I'll learn about it when I finally get to grow it.

The wisteria picture is beautiful, t's such a lovely plat. We've got one growing on our terrace on the Côte d'Azur but actually it's not the best, it doesn't flower so much, which is sad. Thanks for linking to #AllAboutFrance
