See a movie? Take a photo in France? Have an adventure? Eat a fabulous meal or even just a pastry? Or if you're in France now, go ahead and lord it over the rest of us. We can take it.
Maybe we can all satisfy our yearnings for France, until we get there again.
A few
weeks ago, I wrote about our bottles of wine that we bring home from France,
but, of course, we bring home other special things too.
When Grace came home from France in December 2011, she
brought several bars of soap that she bought in the market at Aix en Provence.
The soaps were 1 euro each. I loved using soap from France. She brought a
variety of scents and I felt so sad when they were all gone.
Tucker went to France in March with his classmates. I
begged him to buy soaps in the market, but he refused. Instead, he bought
himself a $129 watch from Les Galeries Lafayette.
Then, last month, as I was cleaning out the closet, I
found a bar of soap that Grace had brought back.
What joy!
I hopped in the shower to enjoy the latest soap, but
quickly called my husband to come take a photo.
As you can see, the soap scent is peach, and I loved discovering a piece of France hiding in my closet.

I love the scented soaps. I had been hoarding two for sometime and then I thought to myself what on earth is wrong with me and started using them. One of the best decisions I made!
Just joined in with Paris in July, and then discovered your Dreaming of Paris, so may I take part please? First up is a lovely old book about the city. http://goo.gl/BjpB9
I can almost smell it from here!
Mystica, Glad you decided to use the soaps. Soon you will be like me, wanting more.
Christine, Welcome!
Sim, You'll have your own soon after your trip to Paris!
Is that macaron shaped soap? I hope so. I have friends that would love that.
THanks for your comment and I'm joining you all today!

The simplest things are often the best souvenirs! And so many things to stock up on to take home. How wonderful to find a bonus bar of peach soap lurking in the cupboard. I'm enjoying vanilla soap at the moment while here.
I always need a reminder - hah! Every now and then I buy French soap in singles, just for a perfume memory.
Bises,
Genie
thanks for the reminder ... my brain is a sieve!
Soaps are a fun souvenir. Scent is so evocative of memory.

lucky you-I love scented soaps.
How wonderful you found a little surprise :-) I love the scents of soaps but I have two bars that my friend Barbara from Paris gave me. :-)
Thank you for your comment on my blog and the flowers.. My life is not normally filled with Monaco and Paris trips , a one off special. It was our 20th wedding anniversary this year , so I took MYSELF off to Monaco with a friend (my husband was working there) .. I did see him LOL .. and with Paris , I had a wonderful offer of a free sofa bed . and a cheapish Eurorstar ticket .. :-) lovely friends too. take care and I will be posting soon.
